How It Works

The calculation uses a simplified version of Ireland's Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP), the same methodology used by registered BER assessors. Default U-values come from Irish Building Regulations Technical Guidance Document L across all revision periods from pre-1978 to 2020+.

The BER system is defined under Irish and EU law by S.I. No. 243 of 2012 (European Union Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations). Both the regulations and the DEAP methodology are public documents — anyone may read, reference, and use them.

This is an estimation tool, not an official BER certificate. For a legally valid BER, contact a registered assessor via seai.ie/ber.
