DATUMDEEP — SUPPORT

OVERVIEW

DatumDeep is an ocean depth explorer. One continuous vertical column from the sunlit surface to Challenger Deep at 10,935 metres. Over 300 curated entries — shipwrecks, submarines, sea creatures, geological features, diving records, and ocean infrastructure — each placed at its true depth. All data is bundled. No internet connection required.

DIVE TAB

Scroll the ocean from surface to seabed. A live header tracks your current depth, pressure, temperature, and light level. Zone navigation buttons jump between photic, twilight, midnight, abyssal, and hadal zones. Background animations show marine life appropriate to each depth — fish in the shallows, jellyfish in the twilight zone, squid in the midnight zone, anglerfish in the abyss. Bioluminescent particles flicker below 1,000 metres.

CATALOG TAB

Browse, search, and filter the complete database. Search by name, location, or keyword. Filter by category: wrecks, submarines, creatures, geology, records, infrastructure, and fiction. Sort by depth, year, or name. Tap any entry to view full details, locate it on the dive column, or add it to the compare view.

COMPARE TAB

Place any two entries side by side to visualise the depth difference. See the pressure delta and a scale equivalent to make the numbers tangible.

CONFIG TAB

Choose between green or amber phosphor display themes. Switch between metres and feet, atmospheres and bar and PSI. View database statistics broken down by category.
