Irish Real Time Rail does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind.
Location is optional. With your permission while the app is open, Irish Real Time Rail uses your location to find your nearest station, to sort stations and trains by distance, and to show you on the map.
If you turn on an arrival alert or Wake Me, the app asks for permission to use your location at all times. iOS then watches for you reaching the stations you chose, on your device, and wakes the app to show you the next trains. The app asks for this only when you turn such an alert on, and stops watching when you turn it off.
Your location is never stored by the app, never sent anywhere, and never shared.
Train times come from Irish Rail's public realtime service. The app requests a station's board by its station code, a train's stops by its train code and date, and the list of trains running in the network. Nothing about you is sent with these requests. Map imagery is provided by Apple. No other network requests are made.
Reminders, arrival alerts and Wake Me are local notifications, scheduled and delivered on your device. No notification passes through any server of ours.
Your favourite stations, your alerts and your settings are stored on your device alone, where the app's widgets can read them. They are never uploaded.
Irish Real Time Rail does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking of any kind.
Irish Real Time Rail uses Apple MapKit to display maps within the app, and walking directions open in Apple Maps. Apple's use of any data related to maps is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Train times come from Irish Rail's realtime service. The app is not affiliated with Iarnród Éireann.
Irish Real Time Rail does not collect data from anyone, including children.
