NoxPump

Privacy Policy

Data Collection

NoxPump does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. No account is required. No registration. No user profiles.

Network Requests

NoxPump makes requests to one external service to retrieve climate data for the location you specify:

NASA POWER (power.larc.nasa.gov) — Satellite-derived temperature, heating degree day, and soil temperature climatology data. Public domain, operated by NASA Langley Research Center. Your latitude and longitude are sent as query parameters to retrieve climate data. No personal identifiers are transmitted.

NoxPump also uses Apple's MapKit geocoding services to convert place names to coordinates and vice versa. This is subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

Location Data

If you grant location permission, NoxPump uses your device location solely to look up local climate data for heat pump planning. Location data is not transmitted to any server other than the NASA POWER API described above (as latitude and longitude coordinates). Location data is stored locally on your device only.

Local Data Storage

NoxPump stores your settings, house configuration, and cached climate data locally on your device using UserDefaults and the app's Documents directory. This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any external server by the app.

Analytics and Tracking

NoxPump contains no analytics frameworks, no tracking code, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party libraries of any kind. Zero external dependencies.

Children's Privacy

NoxPump does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted here. The app itself contains no mechanism to notify you of policy changes, because there is nothing to notify you about — we don't have your contact details.
