△ PHOSPHORBEAM — PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: March 2026

DATA COLLECTION

PhosphorBeam does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind.

NETWORK REQUESTS

PhosphorBeam connects to CelesTrak to retrieve satellite orbital elements (TLEs) and to GitHub (palewire) to retrieve amateur satellite transponder frequencies. These requests are made directly from your device to those servers. No data passes through any intermediary server operated by us.

LOCATION DATA

PhosphorBeam optionally uses your device's location to determine your ground station position for satellite pass predictions and Doppler calculations. This location information is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted, stored, or shared with any third party. Manual coordinates can be entered instead. The app functions fully without location permission.

LOCAL DATA STORAGE

PhosphorBeam caches satellite orbital elements, transponder frequencies, and pass predictions locally on your device to provide offline access and faster loading. This data consists solely of publicly available satellite tracking information and contains no personal information. User preferences (favourite satellites, callsign, colour theme, location) are stored locally using standard iOS mechanisms. This data never leaves your device.

ANALYTICS AND TRACKING

PhosphorBeam does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking of any kind.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The only external services PhosphorBeam communicates with are CelesTrak for orbital element data and GitHub for transponder frequency data. Their use of any data is governed by their own respective privacy policies.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

PhosphorBeam does not collect data from anyone, including children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
