DATA COLLECTION
PhosphorFAX does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind.
MICROPHONE ACCESS
PhosphorFAX uses your device's microphone to capture audio for real-time radiofax decoding. All audio processing occurs entirely on-device. The demodulated signal of each chart is kept on your device so the chart can be corrected later. Raw audio is recorded only if you turn on RECORD AUDIO in the settings, and is then stored on your device alone. No audio data ever leaves your device unless you choose to share it.
PHOTOS ACCESS
Choosing a photo to send uses the system photo picker, which gives the app only the photo you pick and needs no permission. Saving charts to your photo library asks for add-only access, which lets the app add images and nothing more. It cannot read your library.
NETWORK REQUESTS
PhosphorFAX makes no network requests of any kind. The app does not connect to the internet. There are no servers, no APIs, no telemetry endpoints. It is entirely offline.
LOCAL DATA STORAGE
PhosphorFAX stores received charts, their demodulated signals, optional audio recordings and your settings locally on your device using standard iOS mechanisms. This data never leaves your device and contains no personal information beyond the radio signals you chose to receive.
ANALYTICS AND TRACKING
PhosphorFAX does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking of any kind.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
PhosphorFAX uses no third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks. The app is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks (AVFoundation, Accelerate, SwiftUI).
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
PhosphorFAX does not collect data from anyone, including children.
