◎ PHOSPHORHZ — PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: February 2026

DATA COLLECTION

PhosphorHz does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind.

NETWORK REQUESTS

PhosphorHz connects to NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) public APIs to retrieve real-time space weather data including solar flux indices, geomagnetic indices, X-ray flux measurements, solar wind data, and space weather alerts. These requests are made directly from your device to NOAA servers. No data passes through any intermediary server operated by us.

LOCATION DATA

PhosphorHz uses your device's location solely to determine your station position (QTH) for propagation calculations — MUF estimation, solar zenith angle, sunrise/sunset times, and great-circle path geometry to DX targets. This location information is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted, stored, or shared with any third party. If you decline location permission, you can manually enter a Maidenhead grid locator.

LOCAL DATA STORAGE

PhosphorHz caches space weather data locally on your device to provide continuity between refreshes. This data consists solely of publicly available NOAA measurements and contains no personal information. User preferences (colour theme, QTH location, DX targets) are stored in local UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.

ANALYTICS AND TRACKING

PhosphorHz does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking of any kind.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The only external service PhosphorHz communicates with is the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, a US Government agency providing public domain space weather data. Their use of any data is governed by their own policies.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

PhosphorHz does not collect data from anyone, including children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
