Data Collection
Meteor Wheel does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind.
Network Requests
Meteor Wheel does not make any network requests. Every shower, its window, radiant altitude, Moon phase and conditions verdict is computed locally on your device from bundled data. The app functions entirely offline.
Location
If you allow it, Meteor Wheel reads your location on the device so that it can work out your dark window, radiant altitude and Moon state for where you actually are. That location never leaves the device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can decline it and enter your observing sites by hand instead, and the app works normally either way.
Local Data Storage
Your observing sites, your watch log and your preference settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS mechanisms. They are shared with the app’s own widget through a private app group on the same device, and nothing is transmitted.
Notifications
If you enable peak reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. They involve no server and no personal data, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.
Sharing and Export
Exporting a watch produces a CSV file and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice. Meteor Wheel does not upload it anywhere.
Analytics and Tracking
Meteor Wheel does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, where you are, or how you use the app. That is by design.
Third-Party Services
Meteor Wheel does not communicate with any third-party services. There are no embedded web views, no social media integrations, no advertising networks, and no data brokers.
Children’s Privacy
Meteor Wheel does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app contains no objectionable content and carries a 4+ age rating.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Given that the app collects no data, changes are unlikely.
